Smurfs in the mail

Sunday, February 24th, 2008

One of the greatest joys in life is receiving Smurfs in the mail. Everyone should experience this joy at least once before they die. These were retrieved this morning from my mailbox.

New Smurf Today: 20150 Australian Football

Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

Finally, my new Smurf has arrived today from Australia, its postmarked the first of February. I can’t believe it took that long. But the wait is over. I can now add 20150 Australian Football (navy blue) to my collection. It’s kinda apropos that I bought this Smurf from an Australian Ebayer since he is an Australian Smurf. He’s been hard to find in the U.S. so I am glad I got him at a good price from *Australia. I have two other Aussie rules Smurfs both with the Red shirt on, he can play with. He is in excellent condition. Not a rub to be found. There’s some dust on him actually, which I prefer to anything else. Means he probably hasn’t been handled too much maybe. I’m pretty happy with him. Images to come soon. Just ordered a new digital camera yesterday from Amazon.

*I almost referred to Australia there as “Down Under”. But do people actually say that? Or have I been brainwashed from Crocodile Dundee. If you are Australian and you read this post please let me know whether or not “down under” is a stupid expression. I have my suspicions.

Smurf Kubricks

Saturday, February 9th, 2008

Today is a happy day! I received my recent purchase of Smurf Kubricks,
Set 1. In case you don’t know Kubricks are collectible Lego-like
figures made by MediCom, a Japanese toy company. I had never really
heard of Kubricks until recently. In doing some research I found that
they are produced in limited quantities and not re-released. The
MediCom website also does not ship Kubricks out of Japan. So in other
words, I feel lucky to come across these little guys, and at a great
price too, which always makes it more fun.
