Smurf Kubricks

February 9th, 2008

Today is a happy day! I received my recent purchase of Smurf Kubricks,
Set 1. In case you don’t know Kubricks are collectible Lego-like
figures made by MediCom, a Japanese toy company. I had never really
heard of Kubricks until recently. In doing some research I found that
they are produced in limited quantities and not re-released. The
MediCom website also does not ship Kubricks out of Japan. So in other
words, I feel lucky to come across these little guys, and at a great
price too, which always makes it more fun.

It’s February

February 4th, 2008

It’s February. An exciting month for Smurf collectors with the 2008 Smurfs available from Mushroom Village this month, and the release of The Smurfs DVD, Season 1 Vol. 1. I’m excited. Looking forward to watching the DVD. I wonder if it will still hold up for me, and if I will watch it non-stop all the way through as I did with a recent rental of 24 Season 6. I just discovered 24 last Fall and I watched all 6 seasons, taking about a week to get through each one. 18 hours of DVD watching a week is a lot, for me at least. I am a little off topic…but since we are here I wonder what Jack Bauer would look like if he was a Smurf.

So I decided to start a blog…

January 29th, 2008

So I decided to start a blog about Smurf figurine collecting. I figure, I spend a good amount of time on my hobby, might as well blog about it. I also want this to be a place to talk about the collection of things other than Smurfs as well. Lets branch out a little bit. Expand some horizons. This is gonna be fun!
